Tropical Watermelon Slushy recipe, Watermelon shake, recipes with Watermelon

We had a big family BBQ this week and we had a bunch of watermelon left over.  As I as making fruit smoothies for lunch I had the idea to add watermelon.  I have never tried to make a slushy with watermelon before so it was either going to be “the bomb” or a huge oops. But I have to say the end result was really good, the kids and hubby liked it so much we made another one.  Hope your family enjoys it too!

You will need:

  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups watermelon (mine was cubed with the seeds taken out)
  • 1/4 cup orange Juice
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or honey ~We found it was a little tart and liked the sugar, but this could be optional

Put  everything in a blender, mix on medium or high speed until well blended.  Makes 3 cups

Would love to know how to make this!

This looks yummy! I always seem to have leftover watermelon because we buy the really big ones. I tried to make one but it wasn’t too good – I think the strawberries might be the difference!
