Fun DIY Kids Activities With Play Doh ~ Tic Tac “Doh” Game

I was pretty excited that Play Doh sent us a bunch of Play-Doh for my sons 6th birthday party!  All my kids love Play-Doh it really does not have an age limit, even I like to play with it.  Over the next few days we are going to be sharing some fun and easy ways our family likes to play and create with Play-Doh.   You can always just hand them a tub and let them go for it, but I have found if you teach them a few games they will literally play for hours!

Tic Tac “Doh” is pretty much the same as the classic game Tic Tac Toe, that we all grew up playing. But we ditched the pen and paper and went for a more hands on approach.

What you need for this game ~ At least two players and 3 colors of Play-Doh.  We use a butter knife to cut the black to make equal section for the # shape we make to play the game.  But this is totally optional.

Start by taking your black Play-Doh and cutting it into 4 equal parts. We do it with a butter knife, first cut it in half, then cut each half again.  Give the sections to your kids and teach them how to use both hands to roll it out into a tube.  Extend your fingers out and with your palms gently roll the Play-Doh . Take your four tubes overlaping them to make a “hashtag” or pound sign shape and this will be your game board.  Next take small sections of your other two colors and make small round balls.  Then use your thumb to flatten your balls into a disk shape.

To play the game you take turns putting a disk into the 3X3 grid. The first person to get 3 in a row in any direction , vertical, horizontal or diagonal is the winner.

This is so great! I loved play doh as a kid! I used to always get upset when other kids would mix the colors! Hah!
