Halloween Bag Pirate Trick or Treat Paper bag craft

Halloween is just around the corner. And our kids have already been thinking of how much candy they are going to get one minute and then the next what costume they are going to wear. My girls have gone from princesses to witches to scary zombie princesses, even my 3 year old! She even wanted to be a pirate princess! This year this Halloween Bag Pirate paper bag craft can be made as is or add your own Pirate flair! Change the shirt and the color of the flowers… add a little drinking cup plastic sword that you see in craft stores. You name it and have fun!

1 sheet of peach construction paper
1 sheet of black construction paper
piece of red felt
piece of black felt

DIRECTIONS

1.  For the pirate face, cut out a 3 1/4 inch long by 5 inch rectangle piece from the peach paper that fits the bottom part of the lunch bag. With the glue stick, glue it onto the bag.
2.   Cut out a 7 1/2 inch long by 5 inch wide piece of red felt. Glue the felt to the body of the paper bag. This will be the pirate shirt.
3.  Cut out the shape of a pirate hat from the black piece of felt. Glue the bottom of the hat onto the top of the face.
4.  Draw a cross and skull bones on the white felt piece. Cut it out with scissors and glue it to the middle of the hat.
5.  Cut a strip of red felt about 8 inches long and 3/4 inch wide for the scarf that fits under the hat. Glue the scarf onto the pirate face directly underneath the pirate hat. Let the end pieces fall to the right side of the face.
6.  Glue both eyes onto the face, You can get some here.

Last year my kids got a new game, Minecraft. Little did I know it was going to be “THE GAME” that they all love and will do extra chores so they can play longer, and will read books just to learn how to make new things on the game.  Personally I don’t get why it is so fun running around building things, and digging holes? BUT my kids LOVE it, so I guess it does not matter if I like it or not, lol.  If you are looking to have a Minecraft Party and want some easy ideas you are going to love thie Minecraft Creeper recipe.

Ingredients:
Light Cocoa Candy Melts
Green Candy Melts
Bright Green Candy Melts
Green Sixlets Chocolate Candy
Dark Chocolate Sprinkles

Other items needed:
• Wax Paper
• Cookie Sheet
• Spoons
Microwave Safe Bowls

3. Start by microwaving the light cocoa candy melts in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until all the candy is melted.
4. Spread the melted light cocoa candy across the wax paper. Use the backend of the spoon to
achieve a smooth surface.
5. Repeat step 3 with the green candy melts then drizzle over the top of the light cocoa candy.
6. Repeat step 3 again with the light green candy melts and again drizzle over the top of the candy on the cookie sheet.
7. Add your Sixlets to the candy randomly. You will want to work fast to ensure the Sixlets will vstick to the melted chocolate.
8. Add your chocolate sprinkles again ensuring it sticks to the melted chocolate.
9. Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for up to 1 hour to allow the chocolate to harden.
10. Remove from fridge.
11. Break the chocolate into pieces by grabbing the back of the wax paper and using your hands to break the chocolate. You will then have your finished Minecraft Creeper Chocolate treat!

Back to school nightly checklist, help kids stay on task and get ready for school #FreePrintable, #School,I can’t believe the summer is almost over and that school will be starting soon for my kids.  It is time to start organizing their school clothes and supplies and working on getting back into a routine again.  As my kids get older I need them to learn to learn to get ready themselves.  Here is a fun FREE PRINTABLE to help them stay on task and organized as the new school year starts.

You can print you own Back To School NightlyChecklist. If you put it in a frame and use a dry erase marker then your kids can use it over and over.  The one below is gender neutral I will post a “boy and girl” one later this week.

Boredom Buster, make your own books!

This was such a fun project for my kids! They got creative and had a chance to use their brains while thinking it was all fun, I’m sneaky like that. 😉

I found these awesome books at Target in the One Spot, but just in case they don’t have them at your Target, here are some that are similar, but in fun colors, which I really like.

Another great thing about these is that there aren’t a lot of products needed. Just the books, markers, crayons, or colored pencils and your imagination!

Here are some other thrifty summer fun ideas!
