Cream of ASPARAGUS SOUP RECIPE, quick and easy #Soup, #ASPARAGUS SOUP Cream of Asparagus soup

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 stalks celery, chopped
  • pinch of garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed and  chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

Wash and dry your vegetables. Peel the tough skin off the bottom of the asparagus.

Chop into 1 inch segments

Steam or boil till tender.  Normally about 7-10 minutes.

In a 3 quart sauce pot, add 2 tablespoons butter, chopped onion, garlic powder and celery. Cook over medium heat  till onions start to turn translucent (normally 7-8 minutes).

Add 3 tablespoon of flour into the pot. Stir around and  cook to get rid of the “raw” flour taste .  Cook about 2 minutes  (medium/ low heat) stirring to prevent clumping or burning.  Add chicken broth and milk at the same time, stir and bring  to a boil.  The flour mixture will start to thicken the broth.

Add onion/ broth mixture along with your steamed asparagus to a blender.  Save a few of the asparagus tops for garnish. ONLY FILL THE BLENDER HALF WAY and do not put the cover on tight.  Just cover with a towel and mix.  Blend till smooth and creamy (about 1-1/2 minutes).  Salt and pepper to taste, serve hot…. enjoy!

Instructions

cheese pizza monkey bread recipe

I was going to make the kids mini pizzas for dinner with Pillsbury Grands Biscuits.  But since I had just made Pecan Monkey Bread  I decided to try something a little different instead.  I made a Cheese Pizza Monkey Bread… and let me just say it turned out finger licking good!  Not to mention it looked really pretty too, I love it when a simple recipe turns out “looking all fancy”.

To make this recipe you will need

  • 1 Tube Pillsbury Grands Flaky Biscuits 16.3oz
  • 5 tablespoons butter  2 tablespoons to grease the pan and 3 to pour on top
  • 1/8 lb grated or cubed mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 8 teaspoons pizza sauce
  • Any other topping you would like to add, (I added green peppers)
  • Bundtform Cake Pan

To prep your pan spread 2 tablespoons of butter on the pan then sprinkle 1/2 tablespoon dry Italian seasoning along the sides and bottom.  At the top of the biscuit pull it apart, stuff the inside with 1 teaspoon sauce, cheese and toppings.

Pinch the top back together to seal it back up.  Place seam side up on it’s edge in the pan.  Once you have all 8 of them stuffed, pour 3 tablespoons melted butter on top

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes till top is a rich golden brown color.  Take out of oven and flip onto a serving platter.

Jalapeno Bacon Popper Dip

 

Jalapeno Popper Dip with Bacon, a quick and easy dip that is warm and cheesy and will have your party guest asking for MORE, #PoppersDip, #JalapenoDip, #Party, #Recipe

I had a “girls night” with my cousins this weekend, so it gave me the chance to whip up a new dip. It turned out amazing and even my kids liked it! As my 4 year old said, “Mom these spicy pickles are good”. The best part about this dip is you can have a great flavor of the Jalapeno peppers with out the heat.  If you want to spice it up, add more peppers or leave some of the seeds in, but this mild version was perfect for my family.

Jalapeno Bacon Popper Dip

You will need:

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 jalapeno peppers  diced(take the seeds out) if you want it hotter 4 peppers
  • 1/3 cup cooked and crumbled bacon  (save a bit back for garnish)
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

This is the fastest and easiest dip, but taste like you worked on it for hours.  Mix all the ingredients together, till well blended.  Spread on the bottom of a 9×9 baking dish, top with crumbled bacon.  Bake in the oven at 350 for 15-20 minutes till edges are golden brown.

TIP: I like to bake mine in two smaller dishes (reduced cooking time a few minutes) I like the dip best when HOT and cheesy right out of the oven.  If I cook it in two pans at different times I can put one out at the start of the party, and pull the second one out once the first one is gone.

My family LOVES THE Chow Mein Noodles at Panda Express. But eating out with a family of 7 is not a budget friendly option. That is when it is time to figure out how to recreate the recipe at home.  Give this recipe a try, hope you enjoy it as much as our family does.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pkg. Hokkien Stir-Fry noodles or Yakisoba noodles about 14 oz. (These are precooked noodles that just need to be warmed through).
  • 1?4 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 1?2 teas. Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 4 teas. Brown Sugar
  • 1?2 teas. Black Pepper or White Pepper if you have it
  • 1 Stalk Celery, thinly sliced on the bias
  • 1?2 Yellow onion, halved and sliced
  • 2 1?2 Cups Cabbage, chopped into bite size pieces
  • 3 Tbsp. Oil

Instructions: In a small bowl whisk together the Soy Sauce, Garlic, Ginger, Brown Sugar and Pepper, set aside. Heat the oil in a wok or large non-stick pan over high heat. When it just starts to smoke add the Onion, Celery and Cabbage and reduce to medium high heat. Stir constantly until the cabbage is reduced by about half, the onions are translucent and the celery is softened, about 3 minutes. Add in the Noodles and Sauce and cook an additional 2 minutes. Serve hot.
