Creepy Apple Mouths, Healthy Halloween Snacks

These fun, creepy, apple mouths are the perfect, healthy snack during this sugar filled Halloween season!  The kids will feel like they are a fun snack, and not even pay attention to the fact that they are eating an apple!

You will need:

An apple

Knife

Sliced or slivered almonds

Begin by cutting your apple into quarters and cut out the seeds.

Once you have the apple sliced, you will wan tto turn the slices over and cut into the side with the skin on.  You are just going to hollow out a small section, but do not cut all the way through, like so.  You will want to leave some of the skin on, they will be the lips.  Before you do anything else, if these aren’t going to be eaten right away, you may want to dip the slices into lemon juice.

Now you will slide in the almond slices.  Slide them in just behind the apple skin.  Using a mixture of slices and slivers will give it an extra creepy appearance!  These would not only be a great after school snack, but would work great for a school party, or any Halloween party!
